Scoring & Scorecard Entry
Enter scores hole-by-hole and watch the leaderboard update in real time.
On game day, the Score Card Editor is where all the action happens. Scores are entered hole-by-hole, color-coded to show performance at a glance, and sync to the leaderboard in real time.
Opening the Score Card Editor
From your Play Date, navigate to the Score Cards view. You’ll see every player listed with their current scorecard. Each player’s card shows:
- Player name at the top
- Front 9 scores (holes 1–9) with a front 9 total
- Back 9 scores (holes 10–18) with a back 9 total and 18-hole grand total
- Color-coded scores showing how each hole compares to par
Tap the blue Edit button next to any player’s name to open their scorecard for editing.
Entering Scores
The scorecard editor shows all 18 holes in a visual grid. The front 9 appears at the top and the back 9 at the bottom, with running totals (front 9, back 9, and full 18) displayed between them.
How to Score
- Tap a hole on the grid to select it — a green arrow appears on the active hole
- Tap a score button (2 through 9) at the bottom of the screen
- The score is recorded and the cursor automatically advances to the next hole
- Repeat until all 18 holes are scored
- Tap Save in the top-right corner when finished
Tip: Use the + and − buttons for quick corrections without advancing to the next hole. The maximum score per hole is 9.
Reading the Scorecard
Scores are color-coded based on performance relative to par so you can see how each hole went at a glance:
| Score | Color | Indicator |
|---|---|---|
| Eagle or better (2+ under par) | Green | Circle around score |
| Birdie (1 under par) | Red | Circle around score |
| Par | Blue | No indicator |
| Bogey (+1) | Black | One dot |
| Double bogey (+2) | Black | Two dots |
| Triple bogey (+3) | Black | Three dots |
| Quadruple bogey or worse | Black | Dash |
Gross vs. Net Scoring
Gross score is the actual number of strokes taken. Net score subtracts your course handicap to level the playing field between golfers of different skill levels. The leaderboard and betting challenges can use either scoring method — this is configured when setting up the Play Date and creating challenges.
You always enter your actual strokes (gross). The app handles the net score calculations automatically based on each player’s course handicap.
Live Leaderboard Updates
As soon as you tap Save, the scores sync to the cloud and the leaderboard updates for everyone in the Play Group. Switch to the Leader Board tab to see live standings, including each player’s score to par and how many holes they’ve completed. Betting challenge results also update automatically as scores come in.
