Not everyone in your group has an iPhone. Sponsored players are golfers you add to ReadiGolf who don’t use the app but still get scores, stats, and email updates—all managed by you or another group member.
Who Is a Sponsored Player?
A sponsored player is someone you add to your Play Group who does not have (or doesn’t want to use) the ReadiGolf app. They appear on scorecards, leaderboards, and reports, but someone else—the “app sponsor”—enters their scores and manages their participation.
How to Add a Sponsored Player
- Go to your Play Group settings
- Tap Add Player or manage the member list
- Add the player’s name and info—they do not need an email or app account
- They will appear as a group member with “App sponsor: [your name]” indicating who manages their entry
What Sponsored Players Get
- Scorecard inclusion – Their scores are entered by the sponsor during the round
- Leaderboard presence – They show up in gross and net rankings
- Email updates – If you configure notifications, they can receive round summaries and play date info at an email address you provide
- Stats and history – Their rounds count toward handicap, averages, and reports
Best Practices
- Communicate with sponsored players before adding them so they know their scores will be tracked
- Enter their scores promptly during or right after the round
- If they get an iPhone later, they can create an account and “take over” their record (contact support for help)
