Nassau Betting

Nassau Betting

The classic three-way golf wager — front 9, back 9, and overall.

Nassau is the most popular golf betting format. It’s actually three separate bets in one: a bet on the front 9, a bet on the back 9, and a bet on the overall 18. You can win all three, lose all three, or split them.

Setting Up a Nassau Challenge

From your Play Date, go to Challenges and select Nassau. You’ll configure these options:

1. Team Format

Choose 1v1, 2v2, or 4v4. Then assign players to Team A (blue) or Team B (orange) by tapping their names.

2. Scoring Type

Select Net or Gross. If you choose Net, pick a handicap method: Stroke off low man (only the difference between handicaps applies) or 100% of handicap (full handicap strokes given).

3. Bet Values

Set the wager amount for each of the three bets: Front 9, Back 9, and Overall 18. These are independent wagers — you can set different amounts for each.

4. Presses (Optional)

A press is a new side bet that starts when a team falls 2 holes behind. Configure the maximum number of presses allowed (0–8) and the press values for front, back, and overall. Enable Auto 2-Down Presses to trigger them automatically.

5. Ball Count Rules (Team Formats Only)

For 2v2 and 4v4, choose how many balls count toward the team score on each hole. Options include: Front/Back split, By Par (different counts for par 3s, 4s, and 5s), or the Chesapeake format (rotating count by hole groups).

Reading Nassau Results

After scores are entered, the results view shows a complete breakdown:

  • Hole-by-hole scoring with color-coded handicap strokes (yellow = 1 stroke given, dark yellow = 2+ strokes)
  • Front 9 result — which team won the front nine and by how much
  • Back 9 result — which team won the back nine
  • Overall 18 result — which team won the full match
  • Press results — outcome of each press bet, if any were triggered
  • Final settlement — total amount won or lost by each team

Save as Template: If your group plays the same Nassau configuration regularly, save it as a template. Next time you create a Nassau challenge, your saved settings load automatically.
